 New Publications, New Piano and Violin Publications from ABRSM

New ABRSM Publications March 2020ABRSM have recently released a new series of piano books titled Core Classics, a collection of seven books of music from the piano canon, selected and graded by leading educationalists. Drawn from ABRSM’s extensive back catalogue, each volume contains a rich selection of engaging pieces to form the backbone of any pianist’s repertoire. With pieces from Bach to Beethoven, Scarlatti to Schumann, and many more, this series includes an abundance of much-loved music. Also new from ABRSM is the latest Violin Star Theory book for 2020. This is an activity book for young violin players in the early stages of learning, to help them with the different aspects of music theory. All of these books are now available to buy. Core Classics

Core Classics is the latest graded piano collection from ABRSM. All pieces have been carefully selected to ensure that each book is nothing short of a ‘teacher’s toolkit’ – works that any teacher would want their pupils to learn as part of their musical journey.

Violin Star Theory

New in 2020, Violin Star Theory is an activity book for young players in the early stages of learning the violin, packed full of fun and imaginative theory, covering note values, rests, pitches, dynamics, accidentals, time signatures and other symbols. It can be used alongside any beginner violin tutor to reinforce aspects of written notation.

With short pieces to sing, clap and play, it makes links throughout to practical music-making and puts theory in context, helping to develop a pupil’s understanding of musical notation, while building aural awareness and boosting their confidence as young musicians.
