The latest jazz releases include the new album by electronic duo Soccer96 - also known as two thirds of The Comet Is Coming - as well as young Danish jazzers Tabloid, Polish trumpeter Tomasz Dąbrowski's tribute to his late mentor Tomasz Stańko, and the sixth album from British saxophonist Trish Clowes.

Soccer96

The original band that ended up forming two thirds of London jazztronica act The Comet Is Coming, Soccer96's latest album is fuelled by their love for electronica, drum & bass, and improvised music, realised with the pair's novel combination of raw analog synths and acoustic drums.

Trish Clowes

English saxophonist Trish Clowes' sixth album - and fourth with her band MY IRIS - was written over the course of several pandemic-induced livestreams, with subjects including (unsurprisingly) physical isolation, as well as imagery of the Scottish coastline ('The Ness') and personal heroes of Trish's in social and climate crisis spheres ('Amber' and 'Ayana').

Available Format: CD

I Just Came From the Moon

The second release from Danish jazz group I Just Came From the Moon, Ånd Ud takes inspiration from the bandmembers' lives settling down as they grow older, with a more personal, bittersweet touch than their debut Hoax.

Tomasz Dąbrowski & The Individual Beings

Polish trumpeter Tomasz Dąbrowski's new recording pays tribute to his late mentor Tomasz Stańko - the name of the band even referes to the Stanko quote "I don't feel lonely, I am an individual being" - with a selection of his own tunes reminiscent of Wayne Shorter-era Miles Davis recordings.

Tabloid

Another product of the vibrant young Danish jazz scene, Tabloid are a five-piece band that were already enjoying sold-out shows without having released any music, with the band's eponymous debut comprised of originals written by guitarist Johannes Wamberg, equally inspired by modern jazz and 70's soul.
