Sony Classical - Hi-res downloads at MP3 prices

Sony Classical brings together recordings of the Columbia, CBS Masterworks and RCA labels. Under the innovative direction of Goddard Lieberson, who headed the label's Artists and Repertoire division, Columbia Records quickly became an industry leader both in the depth and breadth of its catalogue and in technological innovation, from the advent of long-playing records to the dawn of the digital age. Likewise RCA, which enjoyed a particularly golden age in the 1950s with its 'Living Stereo' series. The Sony Classical catalogue includes legendary recordings by artists such as Vladimir Horowitz, Leonard Bernstein, Bruno Walter, Fritz Reiner, Glenn Gould and Murray Perahia, alongside highly celebrated new recordings by artists including Sol Gabetta, Leif Ove Andsnes, Jonas Kaufmann, Igor Levit and Christian Thielemann.
