About
Christine Schornsheim has been captivating audiences for many years with an inexhaustible variety of sounds on different period keyboard instruments, which she handles with ease and with unending musical imagination. In this album, her passion and intuition for rare repertoire feature in a programme of works by two composers who lived and worked mostly in Denmark: German composer Johann Abraham Peter Schulz, who worked for many years in Copenhagen and became noted for his folk songs; and his Danish-born pupil Christoph Ernst Friedrich Weyse, whose virtuosic piano compositions continue the style and tradition of Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach.
