Bernstein’s final work, Touches, is a work that seems to ‘touch’ on everything, from pointillism to jazz. Cooperstock’s account is magnificent, as is his justifiably granitic approach to Berstein’s Piano Sonata. There is much to enthral, including the exhilarating arrangement of Copland’s El Salón Mèxico, given with true virtuosity. Superb.
