Playing the meaning of the French words 'ballade' et 'balade' in its title, this joint project of CD and DVD (dual disc) consists of the musical documentary by Laura Beldiman and Jean-Philippe Raymond entitled 'The Island of Light' about Dominique Probst (52 '/ Hibou Production) and a monograph on the composer during his 40 year career.

It also offers a variety of instrumental, vocal and orchestral works composed across the years 1972 to 2012 that reflect the work of an endearing musician of our time who is not recorded enough on CD, apart from his opera 'Maximilian Kolbe'.
