About

This well-known set of Suites is rarely undertaken by most harpsichordist because of its distinctive virtuosity. Its popular title refers to only one manuscript – that of Johann Christian Bach, who noted “fait pour les Anglois” on it. It is possibly a homage or musical reply to the 1713 publication of Francois Couperin’s Premier Livre de Pieces de Clavecin.

Following his acclaimed recordings of the first and second parts of the Clavierubung (RAM0804 & 1001) Pascal Dubreuil offers an impressive reading of the highest artistry.
