Daniel Gaede plays unaffectedly without any soloistic pretensions and on the same wavelength as the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra under Wojciech Rajski. As a prelude rather than an encore, the three brothers in spirit, Daniel, Thomas and Sebastian Gaede play the Trio, op. 3.
Daniel Gaede is a German violinist, born in Hamburg. On graduating from high school, he studied with Thomas Brandis in Berlin, Max Rostal in Switzerland, and Josef Gingold in the United States. The winner of many scholarships and international awards, Gaede won the Artists International Competition in New York, which led to a performance at Carnegie Hall in 1992. Gaede has appeared as a soloist with several major orchestras, and has toured Europe, the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Australia. He has also been active as a chamber musician, forming Trio Cecile with pianist Xuesu Liu and cellist Julius Berger. From 1994 to 2000, Gaede was the concertmaster of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.
In 2000 he became a professor at Nuremberg University of Music, and he has given master classes around the world.
